My Dad got married

So two weekends ago, my Dad got married. It was at the beach, so I was very excited about that. Addison L.O.V.E.D. it!

We were the first to arrive at the beach along with Brad and Paula. We decided to go for a "walk" on the beach.

Addison went straight for the ocean (we suspected she would do this so we put a swimming suit on under her outfit) It was SO cold, but Addison wanted more. She was shivering, and her lips were turning blue, and she was saying, "No, no I want to go back swimmin'!"

Pretty soon, I started to get scared that Addison would get sick, so we went to swim in the indoor pool.
After about 10 minutes, Addison announced that she had pee-peed in the hot tub ... brad got grossed out and decided he was done with swimming. Haha ... Oh the joys of parent-hood. We told brad that he should just be happy it wasn't poo-poo.

Addison was pretty tired .. even the next morning. This is Addison's face when she watches t.v. and the very reason I have to keep it to a minimum. She totally zones out.

Pictures of the wedding coming soon...

Until next time...

Pumpkin muffins with Muffin

Addison and I got up one morning a few days ago and decided to make pumpkin muffins. I have had canned pumpkin in my pantry since the first day they put it on the shelves. Pumpkins are my favorite thing about the fall season. I love decorating with them, the color, but most of all I love cooking with them.

.. so Addison and I went to work mixing the together the ingredients

... Then we put the batter in to the paper cups, then to the oven for about 15 minutes

... and TA-DA! They were done... Addison was very excited.

... She didn't like the cream cheese icing too much, but she definitely loved the cake part.

We had a ton of fun... but Addison was tired of me taking pictures of her :)

*Explanation of the title of this post: Our family used to call Addison "muffin" when she was itty-bitty. My mom even got her a baby doll named muffin for her birthday. That little term of endearment has since dwindled away... Now, if I try to call her anything other than Addison (sweetie, pumpkin, sugar), she feels that she must correct me and remind me of the name I came up with. "No Mommy, it's Addison Taylor Dortch!" *

Until next time ...

Shared photo book from Katelynn

A few weeks ago, Uriah was so sweet and he bought me a coupon at groupons.com to order a picture book through Shutterfly. I love it! Enjoy!

My little one is down for a nap so I thought I would take a minutes and update the blog...

I had test #3 in OB today. Our final is on Friday and that means that my OB rotation will be over :( I am so sad. I have never enjoyed a semester as much as this one. I know for sure this is what I want to do with my life - That is a good feeling. :) I have enjoyed learning about other domains of nursing such as cardiac care, and peds... but OB has surpassed them all. If I get to be picky, I would love to be a L&D nurse. *Sigh* ... we will see...

Addison just woke up and is asking for a snack.

Until next time...

Pumpkin Pickin' with Nana

Wow... its been almost a year since I have posted any thing. Time flies...

Well, Addison and I went pumpkin picking yesterday with my mom at hill ridge farms ... We had so much fun. It was just the three of us... There was a hay ride, a train ride, a bunny farm, and so much more...

These pictures are priceless :)

Enjoy!

Thank you Nana... We had a great time!
